Each flat point bullet is re-struck to a true .452 diameter for a consistent load every time. They feed smoothly in a Colt Single Action Army, lever action rifles, and other .45 Colt platforms, and they hold up to both light cowboy loads and heavier smokeless loads within published limits. About .45 Colt Bullets
The .45 Colt, also called the .45 Long Colt, is one of the oldest handgun rounds still in common use. Colt’s Manufacturing Company developed it in the early 1870s, and the U.S. Army adopted it in 1873 for the Colt Single Action Army revolver, the gun known as the Peacemaker. The first Colt load fired a 255-grain lead bullet over about 40 grains of black powder. More than 150 years later, the .45 Colt is still a top pick for cowboy action shooting and range work.

The .45 Colt runs at a standard load pressure that stays low next to many modern rounds. That means mild recoil and easy shooting in a single-action revolver or lever gun. The round is also flexible. Load Flexibility and Reloading Notes
The 250 gr bullet works across a wide range of Colt load recipes. A few notes to keep in mind:
- Works with both black powder and smokeless powder load data.
- Supports light cowboy loads as well as heavier configurations and performs consistently across different powders and charge weights. Heavier loads may call for a slower-burning powder.
- Pair it with quality Colt brass and large pistol primers. Use a magnum primer only when your published data calls for it.
- Apply a firm crimp into the crimp groove to hold the bullet in place under recoil.
- Check that your cylinder throats and chamber throats measure near .452 for the best accuracy.
- This bullet is designed to be loaded in ammo, not sold as ammunition.
