2026 Berry’s Reloader Survey: Consistency, Value, and What Reloaders Want
Berry’s 2026 Reloader Feedback Survey asked the people who load Berry’s bullets what they shoot, why they chose the brand, how the bullets perform at the bench, and what they would change. When respondents rated consistency from one batch to the next, 97% called Berry’s very or extremely consistent, and 94% said they have never had an issue with a Berry’s product.
Berry’s has manufactured plated bullets and reloading gear in the United States for more than six decades. In 2026, Berry’s surveyed its customer base and received 336 responses. Every percentage below uses the number of respondents who answered that specific question.
Key Findings

Who Berry’s Surveyed
The survey went to reloaders who buy and shoot Berry’s bullets, so the results describe current customers rather than the general reloading public. This is a seasoned, active group, which matters because it means the ratings come from people with the experience and the comparison points to judge a bullet.
How long have you been reloading?

How often do you reload?

Survey context: This is a loyal base, not a group of first-time buyers. Nearly a quarter have bought Berry’s for a decade or more, and only 15% are inside their first year with the brand.

What Reloaders Load
Berry’s customers lean heavily on the handgun bench. Plated pistol bullets are used by 94% of respondents and plated rifle bullets by 43%, and a meaningful share also buys Berry’s storage and reloading gear, which points to buyers who fill more than one part of the cart.
Which Berry’s products do you use?

The caliber list tracks with what sells across the reloading world. Nine millimeter leads at 79%, followed by .45 ACP and the .38/.357 family. On the rifle side, .223/5.56 shows up for more than half the group, with .300 Blackout, 30-30, and 45-70 filling out the heavier end.
What calibers do you reload most?

Why they load says a lot about how they buy. Range practice tops the list at 87%, and the enjoyment of the hobby comes in second at 71%. Cost savings sits at 56%, which lines up with what respondents told us drove them to Berry’s in the first place.

Why Reloaders Choose Berry’s
Respondents were asked in an open question what made them pick Berry’s over other brands, and the answers were grouped into themes. Price and value led by a wide margin, named by 62%. Reloaders pointed to competitive pricing, real cost savings, and bulk packaging that stretches a budget. Quality was next at 34%, where respondents called out consistent quality, accuracy, the full copper plating, and how much cleaner the bullets run than bare lead. Availability and selection followed at 13%, covering reliable stock and a wide caliber lineup, and recommendations from friends, forums, and local shops rounded out the top four at 11%.
What made you choose Berry’s over other brands?

When asked separately what they like most about Berry’s, the same order held. Price and value again led at 43%, pointing to fair pricing, sales, and a real savings against jacketed bullets. Quality and consistency came next, with respondents praising accurate bullets that hold their weight and dimensions round to round and reliable stock across a wide caliber lineup. A smaller group singled out the buying experience itself, calling out fast shipping, double-packaged boxes that arrive intact, an easy website, and helpful customer service.
What do you like most about Berry’s?

What the data suggests: reloaders come for the price and stay because the product holds up. Value opens the door, but quality and consistency are what keep the same buyers at the bench for years.
Respondents were also asked to describe Berry’s to a friend in one sentence. The answers clustered around the same three ideas, a quality product, strong value, and a brand they recommend without hesitation.
“The best plated bullet for the money I’ve seen or used.” — Tim, Georgia
“Reliable, affordable and accurate.” — Roy, Missouri
“Price vs quality vs consistency is great.” — James, Texas
How Berry’s Performs at the Bench
Performance is where the survey gets interesting, because this is a group with the experience to judge it. More than half of respondents said Berry’s bullets perform better than they expected, and nearly all of the rest said the bullets perform as expected. A single respondent marked below expectations.
How do Berry’s bullets perform for you?

Consistency batch to batch is the number Berry’s cares about most, and it is the strongest result in the survey. Ninety-seven percent rated the bullets very or extremely consistent, split almost evenly between the two top marks. Only ten respondents out of 336 landed below that bar.
How consistent do you find Berry’s bullets batch to batch?

Problems were rare. Ninety-four percent said they had never had an issue with a Berry’s product, and the 6% who had described a small set of situations. Most traced back to boxes damaged in transit and bullets spilled or lost to a carrier’s rough handling, and those were generally replaced at no charge by Berry’s or the retailer. A few raised product concerns like an occasional short count or a batch that ran less uniform than expected, and a handful pointed at stock, backordered items or the wish for a restock alert.
Have you ever had an issue with a Berry’s product?

Against competing plated bullets, Berry’s held its ground. Of the respondents who had used other plated bullets, 31% said Berry’s came out ahead, another 13% called them equal, and 11% said Berry’s simply cost less for the same result. They credited accurate, uniform bullets with plating tough enough to survive seating and crimping without shedding, and packaging that makes them easy to load. Roughly one in ten had never used another plated brand at all, sticking with Berry’s out of habit and trust. The few asks that came up were for a wider lineup and features like a cannelure.
What the data suggests: for a bullet chosen largely on price, the performance scores are unusually high. Reloaders are not trading quality for a lower number, they are getting both.
When asked what is frustrating about buying reloading components today, respondents pointed at the whole market. Price and inflation topped the list at 47%, with many noting how far component costs have climbed since the pandemic, to the point that loading a round no longer feels far off the price of factory ammo. Availability came next at 40%, where shortages hit powder, primers, brass, and the odd bullet profile or obsolete caliber. Powder and primer shortages and shipping or hazmat fees each drew 15%, since powder and primers carry a hazmat charge that stacks onto an online order. A smaller thread ran to finding reliable load data and to the state and local rules that complicate buying and shipping components in some areas.

What the data suggests: the product has the loyalty, and most of the friction is market-wide cost and stock. The clearest thing inside Berry’s control is making specs and load information easier to find on the site.
How to Read These Results
This research is based on voluntary, self-reported survey responses. It reflects the experiences and priorities of 336 reloaders who already buy Berry’s, not the general reloading public. A group that chose to answer a brand survey will lean positive, and the sample skews toward experienced, frequent reloaders. Respondents could skip questions, so the base changes from table to table, and it is printed under each one.
Percentages are calculated against the number of people who answered each question. Questions that allowed more than one selection can total more than 100%. Open-ended answers were reviewed for common themes and are not published individually, which protects respondent privacy while still using the feedback to guide product and content decisions. Figures are rounded to the nearest whole percent, so some columns may not total exactly 100.
